American Rebel Militias Basic Organizational Structure and Standard OPs

During the 'War Between The States' rebel soldiers often had to rely upon captured Union uniforms and equipment, this was especially true of the Confederate Partisan Rangers fighting the Civil War in the Western States of the Army of the Trans-Mississippi, most notably in the Ozarks of Arkansas and Missouri.  It became a common practice for Confederate Partisan Rangers to wear captured US belt buckles upside down to insure rebel identity.  Often the only way a soldier could tell which side another man was on was by looking at his belt buckle since every other article of a rebel's uniform might be regulation Federal Union issue.  Hence the upside down U.S. belt buckles and collar brass upon many of the pages of this American Rebel Militias and American Reformation Ministries website.

"Finally, while viewing these brief "Militia" videos keep in mind what a militia really is in the historical context of our Founding. It's quite unsettling to see American civilians preparing for conflict today, but this time not to protect themselves from foreign invasion, but from our own government. If our economic system collapses, and domestic order disintegrates with the Tories of today imposing ever higher taxes and erosion of liberties, then how shall the victors of freedom repay their citizen soldiers of today? If the dollar collapses and the Government can no longer pay our law enforcement bodies, I don't have to point out, but I will, that chaos throughout our land could be the result.
 
Even though you may not like guns, and don't want one, I suggest you get one and learn how to use it...just in case, and because you can still get one. You don't know at this juncture which side you'll be taking.
 
Whatever sort of economic depression will result, no one knows, but it will be very unpleasant. We can send our totalitarians back to Washington to represent us and snap the gate shut behind us, or elect people like Ron Paul, and come out the other side with our freedoms restored & start re-building liberty as experienced by our very first colonial militiamen. You don't have to be a veteran yourself to recognize in these videos that these civilian soldiers would be no match for a real army. Some would say almost silly. But, keep in mind that when our standing troops come home because our Government will only force upon them payment in worthless script, and these veterans find their brothers, fathers and cousins already formed-up where do you think these Iraq war veterans will seek comfort, and a warm welcome for their military skills? Any meaningful job has gone to China, but now there's no longer a money to buy what was formerly made by them. What would you do?  Think about it."

The US Civil War as a Theological War: Confederate Christian Nationalism and the League of the South

[Quote] These essays in the widely distributed magazine Southern Partisan mark a general acceptance of the theological war thesis amongst the Confederate heritage community. Indeed, such is the current prominence of the orthodox Christian Confederacy argument that the once less outspoken Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) recently reprised the theological war thesis in their publication, Confederate Veteran. Alister C. Anderson, SCV Chaplain-in-Chief, wrote a series of essays forwarding these ideas, arguing that defending Confederate symbols is akin to fighting the Devil and that “the Sons of Confederate Veterans … will not succeed in defending our Southern heritage until we as individuals submit to God’s authority and offer Him ourselves, our souls and bodies as living sacrifices for His providential plans” (“Chaplain’s Comments” vol. 4, 60).4 Continuing in a subsequent issue, Anderson further stated: “My brother compatriots I ask you to remember that we are soldiers in the Army of God and are organized along the military lines of our soldier ancestors” (“Chaplain’s Comments” vol. 6, 60).
