Dear Dan,
I would be quite interested to hear you give your working definition of "an
unreconstructed Southron." Also, I would like to hear your ideas on what "an
unreconstructed Southerner" are.
I have defined the dictum of Reconstruction to be this: "The South must allow
the full social and political equality of all peoples living in the South or be
racists, bigots, and hatemongers." Our people have resisted and stood against
this dictum for over 300 years, but during the last 35 years, a large percentage
of them have accepted it.
To accept this dictum is to be reconstructed, IMO (In
My Opinion). Is this your understanding of
the situation? From statements you have made in the past and from looking at the
web page of your radio show, it seems to me that you have accepted at least a
large part of the Reconstructionist dictum. Yet you still refer to yourself as
"an unreconstructed Southron." I would like to give you the opportunity to
explain this seeming discrepancy.
