DEER HUNTING IN
SOUTH ARKANSAS
Hunting Whitetail Deer In South Arkansas Deer Hunting
Clubs is often done from Tower Stands or Tree Stands and
the Deer are often being chased by Deer Hounds. This is
a fine traditional sport in Dixieland.

Tower Stands are often placed where the Hunter can see
and shoot Long Distances. Hunting from the ground is
also popular and sometimes more exciting. Deer Hunting
provides good fellowship, sport, trophies and meat. This
Deer Hunting Club is in the rolling hills of the South
Arkansas 'Gulf Coastal Plain' in Southern Hot Spring
County, Arkansas.

This Whitetail Doe Was Killed With A Military Surplus
British .303 Rifle with the Original Military Iron Peep
Sights while Hunting in deep woods sitting on the ground
on a "Stand" in front of Walker Deer Hounds. The Doe was
shot down doing a fast run through thick timber about 25
yards away from the hunter. In South Arkansas Deer
Hunting Clubs often use Deer Hounds, but not always; we
also "Still Hunt" and take "Stands" without the aid of
Dogs at times. Many shots are at close range, but not
all of them by any means. Extreme long shots are also
made with good results. Hunting Rifles with telescopic
sights are preferred for really long shots.

not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of
a diligent man is precious.

the pathway thereof there is no death.

with a load of 00 Buckshot and finished off with a .38 Revolver;
both shots at extremely close range in the timber.

A 12 Gauge Shotgun with loads of 00 Buckshot is hard to beat
when Hunting Whitetails in Thick Timber and Brush Country.
