Confederate States Infantry mass at edge of a campsite and send skirmishers forward to a rail fence just behind a deep ditch in the opening moments of a "Civil War" Reenactment of the "Battle of Old Washington" in South Arkansas. Note the Bonnie Blue Flag on a Rebel skirmisher's bayonet.

Federal forward skirmishers at Old Washington State Park. These Union Infantrymen are well forward of the Federal main line of battle and are engaged in a fierce fight with Rebel Infantry forward skirmishers and a squad of CS Cavalrymen on the Rebel right flank. They were supported by a squad of US Cavalrymen on their left flank. Forward skirmishers commonly saw the first action during any major battle of the War Between The States.

Confederate States Infantry marching up the road into the battle as rebel forward skirmishers cheer them forward. This road has just been cleared of Federal forward skirmishers by the joint action of mounted rebel cavalry and forward infantry skirmishers. This particular Battle Reenactment was like most reenactments a scripted scenario, none the less it became somewhat of a tactical war game early in the reenactment and did not go totally according to the planned staged event. This made it more interesting and exciting for the reenactors involved. The attending public audience loved it and were rewarded with an action packed outdoor drama complete with graphic Civil War violence!

Confederate States Infantry main line of battle dress the lines and make preparations for a Rebel charge against the Union center. Note the Confederate Infantry skirmishers forward still behind the rail fence.

The Union Infantry main line of battle falling back behind a rail fence preparing to defend their camp from a Rebel assault in defence of Old Washington, Arkansas CSA. This was only a part of the Federal Union line of battle that day at Old Washington State Park.

The Union Infantry left flank of the Federal main line of battle awaiting the return of their forward skirmishers while anxiously watching Confederate Infantry marching into position for a massive frontal assault upon their postion.

Confederate Army Infantry Reenactors advance towards the invading Federals at Old Washington State Park in Arkansas, the scene of an Annual Civil War Reenactment Event, Tactical War Games and Living History Encampments. This Rebel Infantry action although costly in loss of life and limb resulted in a heroic victory for the Confederates of Arkansas. The Yankee invaders and their Southern scalawag allies were repulsed and sent packing back to Little Rock to lick their wounds like whipped mongrel dogs.

This was however a totally fictional small battle or large skirmish that actually never took place during the War Between The States, the fact simply is that there were no battles or major skirmishes at Old Washington, Arkansas. None the less the historical significance of Old Washington having been designated the Confederate capital of Arkansas during the War makes it a good State Park for Civil War Reenactment Events. Battles and skirmishes were fought throughout Arkansas.
There were well over 300 reenactors involved in this 3 day event and war games on the days these photographs were taken, this event was over ten years ago. Another such Civil War Week-end Event is coming up in November of 2007, details are posted below.

Rebel Infantry skirmishing with Federal Infantry at Old Washington, Arkansas. The Feds have just fired a volley into the Confederate ranks and are are obscured by smoke behind the split rail fence. Previous Union fire has decimated the ranks of the advancing Confederate soldiers, none the less they Hold Fast and eventually press forward their attack. Artillery, Cavalry, and more Infantry from both sides are in furious action in other parts of this battlefield. Reenactors study and work hard to put on a good realistic action-packed show for the attending public audience and their non-combatant family members! Historic Washington State Park

Company A of the 3rd. Arkansas Infantry CSA under heavy enemy fire on the Confederate right flank seeking cover in a ditch behind a rail fence. This unit of Civil War Reenactors and most of the others at this event helped make the motion picture epic GETTYSBURG. War movies would suffer greatly or not be made at all if not for the dedicated effort of war and battle reenactors.

The Union soldiers were driven away from Old Washington and the Federal Camp captured and plundered for much needed war materials, medical supplies, weapons, ammo, and food.

The battle is over and these surviving victorious Rebels celebrate their victory over invading Federal forces by relaxing in the shade with their boots off at this Mississippi Cavalry camp.

Sons of Confederate Veterans
Sons of Confederate Veterans Camps are part of the National Organization of the Sons of Confederate Veterans. It is a fine Southern Heritage Organization, but there are constant battles within the ranks of the SCV between those who understand that White Supremacy was and is the "Cornerstone of the Cause" and those "Rainbow Rebels" who ignorantly embrace multiculturalism. SCV Camps are a good place to get involved in War Between The States Reenacting and uphold Southern Confederate Rebel Heritage.

"The nation was clothed with ample powers to maintain its own supremacy and life forever -- with its foundation upon the White Race, Christianity, and a Republican form of government. If this nation does not like a planet, revolve in orbit around this "trinity," the nation's purpose for existence will have ceased to exist and though its Union is preserved, it will exist only as a Dummy." -- Thomas Jefferson

The League of the South position paper on race and culture states: "The League seeks to protect the historic Anglo-Celtic core culture of the South because the Scots, Irish, Welsh, and English have given Dixie its unique institutions and civilisation. Should the Christian, Anglo-Celtic core be displaced, then the South would cease to be recognisable to us and our progeny. We must maintain this all-important link to our European heritage from which we have drawn our inspiration. Anglo-Celtic Southerners and their European cousins have a duty to protect that which our ancestors bequeathed us. If we will not promote our own interests, no one will do it for us."

Arkansas State Parks Naturalist Joe Johnson in 1981.
I first got seriously involved in Civil War Reenacting while working for the Arkansas State Parks as the Interpretive Naturalist at Lake Chicot State Park at age 30 back in 1980. I'm a native born Arkansawyer, born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. The first Reenactment I ever attended and watched was the 100th. anniversary of the Battle of Little Rock or Battle of Fourche Bayou in 1963. The Battle at Bayou Fourche took place a few miles east of Little Rock, Arkansas and led directly to the capture of Little Rock by the invading Federal Army. Little Rock, Arkansas was the fourth State capital of the Confederate States of America invaded and captured by the hostile Union Army, not counting the Border States which suffered this degradation and humiliation early on in the War for Southern Independence. Since those bygone years of "Civil War" and Northern aggression the evil US Federal Empire has grown and blossomed into a multicultural New World Order Empire of corruption and Police State Tyranny. As a mere child I witnessed first hand the next invasion of Little Rock, Arkansas in 1957 by the Federal Occupation Army and the forced integration of Little Rock Central High School at bayonet point. I graduated from Little Rock Central High School in 1968 and like most of my class I was then and remain today an unreconstructed Southron Rebel. The very first Civil War Battle Reenactment I played an active role in as a Reenactor was at Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park many years ago. Many Reenacting Events are held in Arkansas State Parks every year. If you have never been to such an Event you should go to one, either in Arkansas or your own home State. Never forget these Federal Union atrocities and always remember the valiant martial efforts of our Southron forefathers to remain free and independent of the Federal Union. Always Remember and Always Stand Ready! Ready, Aye Ready!
Arkansas Shall be free!
The Battle of Little Rock (Bayou Fourche), September 10, 1863, was designated as one of the Civil War's 384 principal battlefields by the Civil War Sites Advisory Commission in 1993. The battle was considered significant because of its association with the Union Vicksburg Campaign, Advance on Little Rock (1863). The capture of Little Rock, Arkansas by the invading Federal Army led to the relocation of the Arkansas State Capital to Washington, Arkansas the site of Historic Washington State Park, also known as Old Washington, Ark.
