Why The Klan Is Needed!

1. BECAUSE vast numbers of aliens refuse to be Americanized and are trying to change our institutions and pervert our national principles.
2. Foreign propaganda, foreign money, and visionary purposes; have corrupted the older intellectual leadership of America.
3. BECAUSE Romanism has so increased its numbers that it is reaching out for political domination:
4. Romanism, through its parochial schools and in other ways, is fighting American principles;
5. Romanism is conducting an active and deceptive propaganda campaign to undermine Americanism;
6. Romanism has provided a skillful, organized leadership for the enemies of Americanism;
7. BECAUSE many Americans misled by visionary hopes and foreign propaganda are trying to force this country away from its safe and historic policy of international isolation, and into foreign entanglements;
8. BECAUSE Negroes have once more become active in their demands for social equality and inter-marriage;
9. There are now before Congress measures which would prevent any state from protecting racial purity;
10. Negroes are winning increased political power and declare their intention of using this to attack White Supremacy.
11. Politicians of all parties are now appealing for Negro votes, so that no national party can any longer be depended upon to maintain White Supremacy.
12. BECAUSE all enemies of Protestant Americanism recognize that the Klan is the chief obstacle to their success;
13. Alienisms and Romanism are redoubling their efforts against Americanism;
14. The victories so far won for Americanism will be valueless unless pushed for complete success;
15. Americanism issues must be broadened to reach the fountain springs of anti-Americanism;
16. Eternal Vigilance is still the price of Liberty.
17. BECAUSE lasting victory requires --- Still more complete Protestant American unity; A more aroused American spirit; Informed and definite leadership for definite purposes; Unity and organization to achieve those purposes.
18. THE KLAN is an unified movement for Protestant Americanism;
19. As an organization The Klan exists only for the fulfillment of Americanism;
20. As an agency The Klan has always fought for these purposes, helped win for these purposes, and is able to carry on to the end. |

"In 1940 the Klan joined with the German American Bund, an organization financed in part by the government of Nazi Germany, in holding a large rally at Camp Nordland, New Jersey. After the entry of the United States into World War II, the Klan curtailed its activities. In 1944 it disbanded formally when it was unable to pay back taxes raised by the federal government as an attempt to dismantle the Klan. Revival of Klan activities after the war led to widespread public sentiment for the suppression of the organization."
